The Family Enrichment Ecosystem

Creating space and opportunities for parents and children to cultivate their habits together.

Through fitness, skill-building, and wellness, Pod and Pride creates space for families to move, learn, and grow as one.

The pod

Raised in motion

Orca pods are led by their matriarchs. They travel, hunt, and play as one family, and calves often stay beside their mothers for life.

The pride

Raised in common

The lionesses of a pride raise their cubs together, sharing the watching, the feeding, and the teaching.

Families were never meant to grow alone.

Our why ❊

Parenting can whip you out of shape.

Pod and Pride exists because families deserve places built for all of them at once.

  1. 01

Parents are expected to prioritize their health.

For many, finding time for their health means coordinating more childcare, reconfiguring schedules, or worse, prioritizing everything else and becoming stagnant.

  2. 02

Few places exist for ever-fluctuating family dynamics and play.

Gyms are for adults. Wellness services exist for individuals or couples. Adventure parks are made for children. Many community events separate the kids from the parents, and the ones that don't only happen so often.

  3. 03

Student parents lead quietly, and far too often overburdened.

Academic and parental survival is often accompanied by isolation: the only parent in the classroom, or the only student at the playground. Fears of stigma, exclusion, or becoming a burden can isolate them further.

  4. 04

Working parents' sacrifices are expected, and often celebrated.

Whether a parent works in or out of the home, much of the sacrifice equals less quality time with themselves and their children, and more time for work, homemaking, and everything else.

Born from a club

It started with being the only parent in the room.

Months after becoming a mom, Amaya Johnson went back to college after a five-year break. As a non-traditional student and a busy mom, she founded Students for Parenting and Care at the University of Maryland, College Park, a club for the students raising children while earning their degrees.

The club showed that student parents were happy to be thought of and included, but they still struggled to show up, and the campus support meant for them often never reached them. Pod and Pride grew from that gap.

Every piece of Pod and Pride builds on that first room.

The ecosystem

From the lawn to a campus house.

Each part meets families where they are today, and each one builds toward a place of their own: a home base for families in college towns.

Active · in person

Movement Club

Parents and children moving together outdoors: walk, jog, a-skip, or run. No childcare to arrange, because the children are the point. Every session is free for families.

Building

The Pod and Pride App

The whole ecosystem in your pocket. Find a Movement Club near you, follow along with a family workout, and keep daily routines for parents and kids that bend when the day changes, for a cycle, a sick day, a late night, or the weather, so they still hold. Habits fit into moments families already have: bedtime, the park, a scroll break.

It runs on Awareness Architecture™, founder Amaya Johnson's model for turning what you learn into what you live. Instead of one more thing to remember, the app notices, curates, and gently programs small habits until an idea becomes practice. Built so every family can use it.

Summers

Worldschooling, any size

At home: the app brings the world to you. This week, Japan comes to us, with no passport required, and the routine reshapes around it.

With us: worldschool together on Pod and Pride family trips, from two weeks to a whole summer. Join the interest list and we'll reach out personally with dates, details, and how to sign up.

Weekends

Family experiences

In-person weekend gatherings and adventures where families play, move, and learn side by side, and leave with habits they can keep.

Want your family's whole system built in person? Work with founder Amaya Johnson through Awareness Architecture™ for families, at Sun From Leo.

For the whole village

Wider care

Care that reaches the whole household, inside the app. When a mom is pregnant or postpartum, her partner, older children, and loved ones get timely guides on how to care for her, right when they need them, so no one has to read it all once and try to remember.

It's how a village used to work: support that's shared, lived, and passed along.

For universities

The institution bridge

Helping colleges engage, include, and welcome parenting students, starting with the guide Family Inclusion in Higher Education.

North star

The Campus House

Family spaces in college towns, near campus rather than on it: room to move and play, with space for outdoor games (lacrosse is our founder's pick), co-working for parents, wellness (yes, a nap), and a welcome for every age. A home base for student parents and the families around them.

Stay in the loop

Come along with us.
